unique photo locations for your portraits
Why you should consider Vienna for your wedding dream come true

So, picture this: you and your sweetheart, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Vienna, tying the knot in one of the most romantic cities in the world. Sounds pretty amazing, right? Well, let me give you a few reasons why choosing Vienna for your destination wedding would be an absolute dream.

Because it's like stepping into a fairytale!

Not kidding, Vienna is straight out of a storybook with its stunning palaces, charming cobblestone streets, and enchanting gardens.
Can you imagine saying "I do" in a place like Schönbrunn Palace where little Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is said to have jumped onto the empress's lap, got her around the neck and kissed her righteously?

Because in Vienna, everything is art!

From Schiele to Strauss, Vienna is a city that's absolutely bursting with culture. Picture this: exchanging vows in a historic church followed by a reception filled with live classical music. And then having your portraits taken on a small balcony next to the Albertina overlooking the Opera State House at sunset. It's like adding a touch of sophistication and elegance to your wedding celebration.

Because in Vienna, we know how to bake and cook!

Austrian cuisine is a delicious mix of flavors that'll have your taste buds dancing. I'm talking about "real" Wiener Schnitzel, decadent Sachertorte, and mouthwatering Apfelstrudel or Kaiserschmarrn. And let's not forget about the wine – Vienna's got some seriously good stuff that'll keep the party going and people dancing all night long.

Because planning will be super easy!

Forget about stressing over wedding planning – Vienna's got you covered! With tons of experienced vendors and wedding planners ready to help, you can relax knowing that everything will be taken care of. Plus, with Vienna's central location in Europe, it's super easy for guests to get there from just about anywhere.

Because it's the perfect backdrop for your love story!

Everywhere you look in Vienna, there's a picture-perfect spot just waiting to be the backdrop for your wedding photos. Whether it's the charming streets of the Old Town or the vineyards of Grinzing, you'll have no shortage of stunning backdrops to choose from.

Palmenhaus and Gloriette

If you're on the hunt for a killer indoor spot to capture some amazing photos in Vienna, especially during the colder winter months, let me introduce you to my little secret: Palmenhaus.

Located within the Schönbrunn Palace Gardens, it boasts lush greenery all around, sunlight streaming in through the glass ceiling, and absolutely stunning architecture.

A photo session at Palmenhaus is like stepping into a tropical paradise right in the heart of the city and making the dream of each photographer come true thanks to its abundance of soft, natural light.

Do you want to get the most out of Schönbrunn Palace gardens for your photos?

Then I advise you to just take a 10 minutes walk to another fantastic photo spot: the Gloriette!

With its majestic architecture and panoramic views of Vienna, it provides the perfect backdrop for stunning photographs that capture both history and beauty in one frame.

Has the photographer just told you that it's a wrap?

Just stay there and grab a coffee while soaking in stunning views of Vienna.

Rathaus

Where would I go with a couple that just wanted a very quick portrait session due to their full timeline? Protected from rain and direct sunlight?

I would definitely consider Rathaus!

No matter the weather, Rathaus features photo opportunities that always lead to beautiful pictures.

I particularly love that it offers plenty of cozy corners to snuggle up for the perfect spots with this gorgeous building in the background.

Belvedere

There are many reasons why you should consider Castle Belvedere for your photo shooting, whether it's for your wedding portraits or your engagement photos.
First of all, the scenery with a touch of history is stunning, perfect for capturing romantic moments. Another reason why Belvedere is always in my mind when it comes to choosing the perfect location for a photo shooting, is its versatility.
With gardens, courtyards, and elegant interiors, there are plenty of options for unique shots.

Stephansplatz

Another unique spot for your wedding portraits or engagement photos is Stephansplatz, with the iconic St. Stephen's Cathedral as a backdrop.

Being located right in the heart of the city center, Stephansplatz provides easy access to other picturesque spots nearby, ensuring a diverse and enjoyable photoshoot experience.

Plus, Stephansplatz boasts a vibrant array of cafes and designer stores, creating a cosmopolitan ambiance that appeals to fashion-forward and modern couples.

You might want to try the following: start the photo shooting at Stephansplatz (consider climbing to the top of the Cathedral for the stunning panoramic view), then proceed strolling up Kärtnerstraße towards the Vienna State Opera while having your photos taken.

I always have my couples move in front of the camera at one point during the photo shooting. It adds spontaneity and gives a much more natural touch to the photos allowing for candid moments to unfold more easily.
